Sensitive skin in particular should have a very critical eye when choosing daily cleaning products. "Squeaky clean" is still a term that, for many, defines skin as "really" clean. What does "squeaky clean" actually mean? This is intended to describe the condition that arises when the skin is so "clean" that it squeaks when rubbed over it. But should the skin be so clean it squeaks? Under no circumstance!
It has been known for many years that the skin needs the natural protective barrier to be healthy, to keep hydration and to protect itself from environmental influences. Every cleanser that gives you that feeling has certainly removed all dirt from the skin, but unfortunately also the important protective barrier.
This "over-cleansing" can often compress your skin so much that it becomes very sensitive. Our Vegan is aware of this problem and has addressed it. A cleanser that cleanses thoroughly without damaging the skin's natural protective barrier while soothing the skin so as not to overwhelm it during the cleansing.
